28 Oct 2009Yesterday, my windows 7 upgrade arrived in the mail. I chose the option to upgrade rather than do a clean install, It took about 3 hours on my laptop but that isn’t a lot compared to the reports of 20+ hours on older machines. It was fairly simple, just pop the dvd in , choose options, and let it do its thing. A lot of the new features are in the shiny new taskbar with managing multiple windows. It has some new things that I didn’t know about like a nice zoom tool and a much needed re-vamp of paint (finally). There is no sidebar, instead gadgets just float on the desktop, but they can snap to the side. The only compatibility problem I encountered was with the drivers for the quicklaunch buttons on my HP Pavilion. Today is only my second day using it so I will write more about it when I fiddle with the new features.
OMG! Is that paint?

Ah... Shiny
