1 Oct 2009I was reading recently that Verizon is thinking of ditching the idea of offering the pre in January. This is a disappointment to many verizon users, including me. Verizon Wireless has good service in a lot of places, but many would say that their selection of phones is lacking. I am not too fond of my Dare. The pre has sold less than 1 million devices, most likely because so many people are waiting for this to appear on verizon. I would love to see the pre in the V’s lineup and it would not be a good move on their part if they turned it down.

Wacom has just recently released their new line of Bamboo tablets. There are six models that have different features. Most of the new tablets feature multitouch capabilities. This allows you to interact with your mac or pc using gestures similar to those on a macbook trackpad. At the beginning of the line, the bamboo has a pen along with the multitouch feature. Also offered, a bamboo touch with just the multitouch and a bamboo pen with just the pen. The bamboo fun sports pen and touch, a larger surface area, and some bundled software. The bamboo craft is good for scrapbooking and digital crafts. I have the older model of the bamboo fun. I would love to get my hands on one of these, especially the bamboo fun but my old one will have to do for now.

24 Sep 2009I was looking at a blog online and a few days later, I went to it from the browser on my LG Dare. It loaded a mobile version of the site and after doing some research, I found that the blogger used a wordpress plugin called Wordpress Mobile Plugin. It makes your site work in a mobile browser with a clean, easy to navigate interface. It is a quick install and you have four themes to choose from. You have the ability to use ad services like google and make money when people click. Download it here.
I was having issues with the front panel audio ports on my computer and someone recommended that I seek a solution through my MoBo’s software. I had not installed it because people described it as “useless” but I thought it would be worth a try. So I pop in the disc and when I try to run it it asks me to name the blank disk. I’m not really mad about it but I don’t really understand how a company could do that. But, it isn’t a big deal. I could probably download it from their website or get some kind of usb adapter to fix my audio problem.
Imagine your website with ducks flying across the screen. your cursor becomes a gun as you shoot them and watch them fall to your footer. At one time this was only a dream but now it is a reality. All you have to do is grab the script from duckmylife.com and paste it into any part of your web page. And for your entertainment, you can even apply ducks to web pages that aren’t even yours! I made a Shoot Ducks page if anyone wants to see test it out.

31 Aug 2009You can give your windows desktop a cleaner touch with something called object dock. Object Dock is a dock that sits at the bottom of your screen by default, but this can be changed to any side. Icons from from your desktop can be dragged there to un-clutter a desktop. I know what you are thinking, this is a copy of the dock in Mac OS and the truth is, it is but who cares. It makes things a lot easier.
There is a free version but you can spend $20 to upgrade to a premium version and get multiple docks on a desktop and other stuff.

23 Aug 2009I am on vacation in florida at the moment. In a few days, I am going to drive down to orlando to take a picture with Mickey.I found this great looking hotel that has a 3 bedroom suite with a balcony, full kitchen, and a jacuzzi in the master bedroom. According to hotels.com, they have high speed internet so I booked the trip. I am looking at some reviews now (I know, kinda late) but it turns out the hotel has no wifi! they have wired internet in the rooms. That isn’t a big deal because my laptop will be at the desk the whole time but most hotels that I go to are wireless. But as I stated before, no big deal.
(barnes and nobel has slow wifi)
